The Kostel sv. Maří Magdalény Church is a Baroque church built from 1699 to 1706 according to a design by the Italian architect Domenico Martinelli. Church services are held there regularly on Sundays at 7:30 a.m.

Culture and History

In the Rousínovec district, the Kostel sv. Václava Church was completed in 1734. The Kaple sv. Floriána Chapel was built from 1727 to 1728 in honor of Saint Florian as the protector of the town against fires.

The former synagogue in Rousínov was built in 1591 as a simple structure and is now used as the Sbor Cyrila a Metoděje of the Czechoslovak Hussite Church. Its interior can be visited during church services.

The walk “Zákoutí židovské čtvrti v Rousínově” leads to places connected with Jewish life in Rousínov. According to the information boards, it also includes a newly established path along the wall of the Jewish cemetery. The cemetery itself is closed to the public for safety reasons; however, the gravestones can be seen from this path.

Historical Orientation

The Pomník orby císaře Josefa II. u Slavíkovic monument stands on the left at a first-class road on the road out of Rousínov toward Brno. It commemorates an event from 1769, when Emperor Joseph II plowed a furrow near Slavíkovice.

Transport

The bus station in Rousínov has eight stops: two for long-distance bus routes, four for regional bus routes, and two for local bus routes. Since December 19, 2005, regular IDS JMK bus and train services have operated in the vicinity of Rousínov on routes 107, 602, 631, 730, 731, and 732.
