Krasensko: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Krásensko lies at an altitude of 550 m. The defining landmark of the village is Kojál Hill, on which a television transmitter stands.

History

The first written evidence of the existence of the village of Krásensko dates from 1348; at that time, the German name Schönfeld was used. Written sources from around 100 years later already mention the Czech name Krásné Pole for the settlement. In the first half of the 20th century, the production of mother-of-pearl buttons expanded considerably in Krásensko. In the 1980s and 1990s, 90% of Krásensko's inhabitants were weavers.

Culture

The gravestone of Kašpar Lukavecký is now located at the side entrance of the church. Saint Vavřinec is the patron saint of Krásensko and its church. Since 2002, Rychta has operated in a historic building that was once part of a manorial farmstead and is a workplace of South Moravian Lipka for environmental education.

Transport

Every year, on the last Sunday in August, a pilgrimage takes place from Krásensko to Sloup. On weekdays, around 14 connections run in both directions from Krásensko to Vyškov and Blansko; there are connections to Brno there. On weekends, bicycle buses to Krásensko can be used, and they also transport bicycles.

Geographical Location

Krásensko lies at the junction of three districts – Vyškov (20 km), Blansko (19 km) and Prostějov (33 km) – as well as two regions, Jihomoravský and Olomoucký.
