Bučovice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Bučovice Chateau is a unique Italian Renaissance building north of the Alps. Its grounds include a Renaissance garden, a fortification wall and a moat.

Culture and History

The chateau courtyard features a Mannerist fountain dating from 1635 to 1637. The Bučovice Museum presents the permanent exhibition “Life and Times in the Bučovice Region”, which opened in September 2019. The exhibition “A Moravian Aristocrat in the Labyrinth of the World” explores the world of the Moravian Renaissance aristocracy.

The Parish Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary in Bučovice can be visited inside by groups by prior arrangement with the local priest.

Events

The Bučovice 1645 Historical Festivities include sword fights, concerts featuring contemporary music from the period portrayed, performances by jugglers and others, a historical crafts market, and a historical battle reenactment. The “Bučovice 1645 Historical Festivities” event commemorates the Swedish attack on Bučovice in 1645 during the Thirty Years’ War. It took place on 13 and 14 June 2025 and was announced for 12 and 13 June 2026.

Visiting

The ticket office at Bučovice Chateau is accessible to wheelchair users and people with reduced mobility via mobile wooden ramps. There is only one paid car park in the town, located at Náměstí Svobody.
