Radostice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

In Radostice, the Bobrava Nature Park, marked trails, and village life with a church and revived traditions come together. Between the river landscape, the wooded protected area, and historic architectural monuments, the village reveals different facets reflected in its nature, trails, history, and traditions.

Nature and Trails

The Bobrava Nature Park is a generally protected area covering 30.90 km². It was designated on 1 January 1982 in the Brno-venkov District and extends across a wooded area between the municipalities of Ořechov, Střelice, Omice, Popůvky, Tetčice, Troubsko, Neslovice, Hlína, Silůvky, Prštice, and Radostice.

The landscape features in the area around Radostice include the meandering Bobrava River, meadows, wetlands, diverse riverside vegetation, several old mills, and a stone bridge. Several hiking and cycling trails pass through the nature park, including the circular trail through the Bobrava Nature Park.

At Radostický mlýn, a blue-marked hiking trail runs through the Bobrava Valley from Střelice to Želešice; the Přírodním parkem Bobrava cycling route also runs here. After Radostický mlýn, the Přírodním parkem Bobrava educational cycling route reaches the outskirts of Radostice and then continues upstream along the Bobrava Valley.

At the Radostice–railway stop signpost, a red-marked hiking trail continues via the Kopaniny signpost to Ivančice.

Church and Village History

The Church of St. Simon and Jude was founded in 1333 by the brothers Mikuláš and Petr of Radostice. This foundation is recorded on a commemorative plaque set into the church wall.

A Gothic chancel dating from 1366 has been preserved. The present Baroque nave was built during the reconstruction of 1722, before the church was restored again in 1850. St. Simon and Jude is a filial church of the Ořechov parish, where services are regularly held on Wednesdays.

Traditions and Village Life

The Babské hody festival in Radostice took place in 2023 and was scheduled again for 8 June 2024. Mladé hody was revived in Radostice in 2023. The newly established Masopust tradition includes a fancy-dress procession and traditional Ostatky celebrations, accompanied by live music.

Traditional Masopust foods in Radostice include zabijačka and trubičky. Radostická nerezová desítka is also a recurring local running competition, organized with the participation of Sokol Radostice.
