Rudka: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Rudka lies in a valley on both banks of the Bobrava. The river rises in a forest near Rudka, making it a defining geographical feature of the village.

Trails

The educational trail “Naučná stezka Rudka” was created in two sections: the first section, with five stations from the municipal office to the source of the Bobrava, was completed in June 2015. The second section, with the remaining five stations, was created in 2016.

The “Stezka pro zdraví” health trail includes fitness, balance and climbing elements for adults, seniors, children and young people. The trail also includes a zip line, benches, waste bins and information boards about the individual elements.

History and Culture

Only the remains of the ramparts and walls of the former Hrádek fortress, which had fallen into ruin by the time of the Thirty Years’ War at the latest, have survived. Silver was mined in the Prachová parcel of land during the Middle Ages; iron ore was also extracted there until the middle of the 19th century.

A historic bell tower stands in the centre of Rudka. A small bell with a Czech inscription and the year 1715 hangs from a wooden structure. The birthplace of Josef Juran in Rudka has also been designated a cultural monument.

One chapter of more recent cultural history takes us to the spring of 2002: scenes for the television series “Černí baroni” were filmed at a local pub in Rudka at that time.

Local Life

In mid-August, the local volunteer fire brigade in Rudka organises parish festival entertainment events. The Feast of Saint Procopius, the patron saint of the bell, was celebrated every year with a Mass followed by a shared meal, conversations and singing.
