Culture and Landscape

Two sunken features containing material from a settlement dating to the younger Roman Imperial period were identified at the “Pastvisko” site in Syrovice. The cultural layer at the “Pastvisko” site lies above the floodplain of the Syrůvka watercourse. The Syrůvka stream rises in Syrovice.

Church and Monuments

The Late Baroque Church of Saint Augustine in Syrovice is protected as a cultural monument of the Czech Republic. It stands on the eastern slope of Syrovice and offers a view of the village. It originated as a chapel built in 1775 on the initiative of Marie Cecilie ze Sekenberka.

The Baroque sandstone statue of Saint John of Nepomuk was donated in 1771 by Jiří Šubert from Syrovice. The Late Baroque wayside shrine “Poklona” in Syrovice stands on the road towards Bratčice and is a valuable small monument that points to the design of the early modern cultural landscape. The stone cross “Kamenný kříž” in Syrovice is a valuable Late Baroque small architectural sculpture.

Cycling Route and Annual Events

The “4. želešické KOLORÁDO” cycling route leads to Syrovice. The Syrovice section of this cycling route continues to a pond and is suitable for cross-country and mountain bikes.

The Augustinské hody festival traditionally takes place in Syrovice on the last weekend of August.
