Ochoz u Tišnova lies in the Svratecká hornatina Nature Park and at the southern foothills of Sýkoř Hill. Natural monuments, a distinctive chapel, and regular events characterize the special features of the village.

Nature

The Hrušín nature monument, covering 12.43 hectares, lies within the cadastral area of Ochoz u Tišnova. It consists of near-natural to natural lime and sycamore maple forest with beech and lies along a supraregional biocorridor. The species-rich undergrowth is home to a distinctive population of the specially protected snowdrop (Galanthus nivalis L.).

Dobrá studně presents a distinctive landscape: powerful solifluction flows shape the relief there. Small wetland depressions divide these landforms; they were formed by frost weathering and slope processes during the Ice Age.

Culture

The distinctive landmark of Ochoz u Tišnova is the Chapel of Saint Francis of Assisi. Its foundation stone is dated to 1876, and the chapel was completely reconstructed in 2005.

The pilgrimage to Saint Francis in Ochoz u Tišnova includes entertainment and a football match between single and married men. Since 2000, the “NeVyl” event, featuring a tasting, has also been held in October.

Getting Around

Since 1998, the cycling event “Cyklistický přesun krajinou Ochoz-Pivovar Černá Hora” has been held in August, featuring a race to “Rašák.” Variant b) of the cycling tour “Památky Tišnovska” passes through Ochoz u Tišnova and continues to Doubravník, Černvír, and Nedvědice.

A yellow-marked hiking trail leads through Ochoz u Tišnova from Štěpánovice via Veselský Chlum. The long-distance cycle route known as the Pražská trasa also runs through the village.
