Malhostovice: Holiday Apartments and Houses

Nature

“Malhostovické kopečky” is designated as a site of European importance within the Natura 2000 network. The protected area preserves calcareous or alkaline rocky grasslands as well as near-natural dry grasslands and shrub formations on calcareous soil. The area is home to the large-flowered pasque flower (Pulsatilla grandis), a species of importance under European law.

“Malhostovické kopečky” also features very well-preserved steppe vegetation in an otherwise intensively farmed landscape and is home to numerous rare and protected thermophilic species.

Culture and History

The “kostel sv. Vavřince” church in Malhostovice is protected as a cultural monument in the Czech Republic; its register number is ÚSKP 46109/7-808, and it has been protected since May 3, 1958. The building is essentially late Romanesque, has a Renaissance tower, and was extensively rebuilt in the 1830s. At the same time, the church is a valuable historical and artistic monument.

The Brabinka reconciliation stone is a rounded sandstone stele with an engraved cross and probably dates from the 16th century. A permanent picture gallery is located in Municipal Building No. 45 in Malhostovice.

Getting Around

Cycle route 5197 leads from Malhostovice to the observation tower on Zlobice. The tower is 12.5 meters high; its observation platform is 9 meters above the ground.
