Skalička: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Skalička lies in the valley of the Lubě stream, in the hills below Paní hora and north of Kuřim. In the middle of the village, the Žandovský mlýn mill stands on the Lubě stream; it is the oldest surviving structure in Skalička.

Landscape and Trails

A green-marked hiking trail runs through Skalička to the Nad Lipůvkou signpost, where it joins a red-marked trail towards Blansko and Kuřim.

Culture and History

The Chapel of Saint Wenceslas in Skalička dates from 1923. In 1944–1945, Skalička was an important centre of anti-fascist resistance in the Tišnovsko region. The partisan memorial near Skalička is dedicated to the members of General Luža’s 3rd Assault Company and was unveiled in 1946.

The site of the former fortress in Skalička, which existed in the 16th century, is still known as Hradisko; a reference from 1573 already described the fortress as ruined. For many years, the Žandovský mlýn has hosted cultural and social gatherings.

Sports, Water and Educational Trail

The sports complex by the artificial body of water in Skalička includes a paddling pool measuring 23 × 3.5 m, with a volume of approximately 15 m³ and a water temperature of 23–25 °C. The sports complex also has a court for tennis or nohejbal.

The Cesty medu educational trail is approximately 3 kilometres long. Its seventh information board is located on the outskirts of Skalička u Tišnova by a cycle path; a glass observation beehive can be viewed there. Ordinary tourists can view a glass observation beehive on the access road to the apiary.
