Nové Bránice: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Nové Bránice is located in the Bobrava Highlands region and is also a wine-growing municipality in the Znojemská wine region, with the Staré hory vineyard site. With its typical gravel soils, the wine-growing region is particularly suitable for cultivating red grape varieties such as Frankovka, Zweigeltrebe and André.

A red-marked hiking trail passes through Nové Bránice. The surrounding area includes Dolní nová města [Dolní Kounice], Veselá hora [Mělčany] and Bukovina [Moravské Bránice] – each a hill. Leskoun, a mountain, is also located in the wider regional surroundings of Nové Bránice.

The cycle path also includes a 14.60 m pedestrian bridge over the Bukovina stream. The aim of the project “Cyklistická trasa Ivančice-Dolní Kounice I, úsek Moravské Bránice-Dolní Kounice” is to build a new, bidirectional cycle path with mixed traffic for cyclists and pedestrians, measuring 4,005 m in length.

History and culture

The first written mention of Nové Bránice dates from 1306; at that time, the village was owned by the nearby Rosa Coeli monastery in Dolní Kounice. A bell tower stands on the site of the former cemetery in Nové Bránice.

In front of the primary school in Nové Bránice stands a war memorial dedicated to those who fell in the First World War. On Skalní Street, in front of the entrance to Dolní Kounice from Nové Bránice, there is another war memorial dedicated to those who fell in the First World War. The statue of Saint John of Nepomuk in Nové Bránice is a polychrome, approximately life-size figure.
