Vlasatice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Vlasatice combines a distinctive wine cycling route with a multifaceted local history. Vlasatice lies along the Znojemská Wine Cycling Route, while the chateau, parish church, chapel and an unusually large sandstone statue reveal different traces of the past.

Cycling Route and Trails

The Znojemská Wine Cycling Route runs mainly along quiet sections of third-class roads, paved farm tracks and forest paths. Green signs bearing a stylised cellar gable serve as orientation markers.

History and Local Landmarks

The parish church of Saint John the Baptist was built in 1610 by Jeroným Václav z Thurnu on the site of an older place of worship that had already been mentioned around 1276. The church was intended for Lutherans and Anabaptists and served as the burial church of the Thurn family.

The chateau in Vlasatice consists of a two-storey building with an adjoining tower. It is privately owned, is undergoing extensive renovation and is currently not open to the public. Another prominent local feature is the statue of Saint Florian: a freestanding sandstone sculpture approximately 3.5 metres high. The Chapel of Saint Anthony is located at a crossroads in Vlasatice.

Several historic structures can be found in the wider region around Vlasatice. Dívčí Hrady is a ruin, Fünfkirchen Chateau is a castle, and both Falkenstein Ruin and Tempelštejn are ruins.

The area around Vlasatice also includes several named elevations: Leskoun, Obora and Pálava are mountains in the vicinity. Roviny (Drnholec) is a hill there.

In 2020, annual spring fishing competitions for children and adults took place in Vlasatice.
