Nature

Svatá voda, a plentiful spring of very tasty mineral water, lies in a side valley north of Nová Ves. Near Nová Ves, a yellow-marked trail runs from Oslavany through the Oslava Valley to Senoradský mlýn. Studánka U Berana is located on the yellow-marked trail between Senorady and Oslavany. From Nová Ves, Studánka U Berana can be reached via a paved forest road followed by the yellow-marked trail; the spring is 1.5 km from the village. Studánka U Berana, also known as Pramen U Dobré vody or Pramen lásky, is one of the most abundant water sources in the Oslava catchment area.

Activities

Nová Ves’s school sports complex includes a covered multipurpose hall with a telescopic structure for ball sports and an indoor swimming pool with complete facilities.

Culture

The Rozmarýnové hody festival traditionally takes place in Nová Ves every year at the end of September. Nová Ves is also a former wine-growing municipality.

History

Nová Ves was founded around 1410 after the abandoned settlement of Řevušín, which was mentioned in 1230. The Majer stonemason family from Nová Ves produced stone crosses and statues that are still scattered throughout the wider surrounding area.
