Blučina: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The Výhon Nature Park covers approximately 1,700 hectares of the entire Výhon Massif in the South Moravian Region and is located in the cadastral areas of Blučina, Židlochovice and Nosislav. The steep slopes of Výhon feature a mosaic-like landscape of vineyards, intensively and extensively managed orchards, fields and gardens, grassy verges along the paths, and steppe grasslands.

Landscape and Nature

The natural area near Blučina includes the Nové hory Nature Monument. It protects remnants of broad-leaved dry grasslands, where orchids occur in some places, as well as numerous other specially protected and rare plant and animal species.

Since 2009, the summit of Výhon has been home to the nearly 18-metre-high wooden Akátová věž observation tower. Another landscape feature is Blučiňák Pond, which includes a natural swimming area as well as wetland and littoral zones.

Water and Paths

Blučiňák Pond is best reached via the cycle path from the indoor swimming pool in Blučina. The Brno–Vienna cycle path is more than 130 kilometres long.

Architectural Heritage and Tradition

The Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary is a protected cultural monument and a three-nave building with a five-sided chancel. The Marian column was also erected in the Baroque style, around 1720. It bears statues of Saint Barbara, Saint Florian and Saint John of Nepomuk.

Other religious monuments include Boží muka, a three-sided wayside shrine in the Baroque style dating from the first half of the 18th century. Local tradition also extends into music and festivities: the BLUČIŇÁCI brass band was founded in 1920 by brothers Rudolf and František Kratochvíl, while the Blučinské hody festival continues to be celebrated in the municipality in its original form.
