Těšany: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes
The Kovárna in Těšany is a Baroque forge dating from 1700 and an exceptionally well-preserved building of a craft workshop, connected to farm and residential buildings. Tours are possible at other times by prior arrangement for groups of at least ten people.
History
Dominicans built a residence in Těšany in the second half of the 17th century, from which Zámeček later developed. The early Baroque, single-storey building is privately owned and not accessible; however, a larger part of the building borders a freely accessible footpath.
Religious Buildings
The Church of Saint Barnabas was ceremonially consecrated on 12 June 1907. It is a high-quality, stylistically pure example of Late Historicism and one of the landmarks of the municipality. It currently has three bells, dedicated to Saint Barnabas, the Holy Family and Saint John the Baptist.
The Chapel of the Virgin Mary stands on a hill between Těšany and Borkovany. It was consecrated on 13 June 1948 and built out of gratitude for the safe return of political prisoners from Těšany from concentration camps. Pilgrimages to this chapel are regularly held in May.
