Ricany: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

In Říčany, the range of historic sites extends from the Church of St. Peter and Paul to the fortress documented since 1349. Together with the opportunities for sports, swimming, and winter activities, this creates a variety of aspects of the town.

Culture and History

The Church of St. Peter and Paul is a late Baroque sacred monument built between 1754 and 1763. Its tower is 32 metres high. The church is also associated with a pilgrimage held regularly in Říčany at the end of June.

The fortress of Říčany has been documented since 1349. The former site is now wooded, and the ditch surrounding it is still visible. A memorial stone marks the former site of the Říčany fortress “Zámeček”; on maps, the site is referred to as “Na Hradisku”. It is located in a forest northwest of Říčany, on a high spur above the valley of the Říčanský potok.

The Panský dům also points to the history of the town. Experts estimate that it was built in the 16th century. The building was part of the farm buildings of the so-called “Dvůr”.

Leisure and Exercise

The sports grounds are open daily from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. and are freely accessible during operating hours. In winter, ice skating is possible there.

Two tennis courts can be rented on the grounds of the natural swimming pool. The water of the natural swimming pool is suitable for swimming all year round.
