In Nebovidy, the Church of the Holy Cross has a late Romanesque core, a Gothic chancel and a Gothic sacristy from the 14th century, as well as rare frescoes. It is mentioned in 1329, when it was elevated to a parish church. In 1996, the church was classified as a cultural monument of the Brno-venkov District.

The first written mention of Nebovidy and the name form “Nebowidi” are found in a well-known forgery of a deed of donation to the Třebíč Monastery in Cosmas’s Chronicle from 1104. Nebovidy is also a typical example of a linear roadside village.

For the Nebovidské hody 2026, a festival procession through the village was announced for Saturday, August 22, at 1:30 p.m. An afternoon event at 4:00 p.m. and an evening event at 8:00 p.m. with music by the Sobuláci group for listening and dancing were also announced.

Nature

The predominantly forested Nebovid Hill, at 370 meters above sea level, is the highest of the three significant landscape landmarks of Nebovidy. The deeply cut, forested valleys of the Bobrava stream are also among these three landscape landmarks. Numerous green lizards can still be found in the Bobrava Valley today.

The Chapel of St. Peregrine stands on a hill between Ořechov, Nebovidy and Želešice.
