Pravlov: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Pravlov lies on the Jihlava River. Parts of the cadastral area are located in the Niva Jihlava Nature Park, which has existed since June 1, 1999, and covers approximately 1,300 hectares. The nature park encompasses a floodplain landscape shaped by the Jihlava, which meanders freely between river deposits.

Nature and Landscape

Mount Leskoun is located in the vicinity of Pravlov. The nearby area also includes the hill “(Dolní nová města [Dolní Kounice])”, Veselá hora hill [Mělčany], and Šibeniční vrch hill [Dolní Kounice].

History and Culture

The Church of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary is an important cultural monument of the region and is located in the western part of Pravlov on the right bank of the Jihlava. It is an early Gothic church dating from the second half of the 13th century. Its Gothic tower dates from the early 15th century and is equipped with battlements and a masonry spire.

The Pravlov I archaeological site is considered the most important Lower Paleolithic site in the entire region. A harpoon made from the root of a mammoth molar, found in Pravlov at the end of the 19th century, is kept in the Moravian Museum in Brno.

Wine and Local Character

The grape varieties Frankovka, Svatovavřinecké, Zweigeltrebe, Müller-Thurgau, and Veltlínské zelené are successfully cultivated and processed into wine in Pravlov.

Cycling Trails and the Regional Area

Marked cycling trails intersect in Pravlov, including a local route and the Brno Cycling Route.

The Tempelštejn ruins are located in the wider regional area around Pravlov. The Brno Zoo, Rabštejn ruins, and Dívčí Hrady ruins are also located in the wider regional area.
