Přísnotice: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Přísnotice combines rural sacred architecture, a cross-border long-distance cycle route and natural areas with a series of small monuments in the village.

Culture and history

The village is home to the Church of Saint Wenceslas, built in 1873 on the site of a chapel dating from 1861 and expanded with two side aisles in 1905. It is a valuable example of rural sacred architecture from the late Historicist period and is used for church services.

Přísnotice’s historical landmarks also include the reconciliation cross, which is considered the oldest surviving monument in the municipality. A monument to the victims of both world wars stands in the park on the village square. Another monument commemorating Kryštof Krause stands on the “prostřední pásy” near Přísnotice.

Nature

The Přísnotický les site of European importance lies in the central section of the Dyje–Svratka valley depression, 1 km northeast of the centre of Přísnotice on the right bank of the Šatava. Two small water basins are located in the northern part of the village, while a small pond lies to the southwest. The extensive Nosislavský les stretches from the eastern edge of the village.

The animal life is also associated with specific habitats: a vital population of fire-bellied toads regularly reproduces in the wetlands of Knížecí les (Bombina bombina). The great crested newt (Triturus cristatus) occurs in Přísnotický les.

Cycle routes

The Jantarová stezka long-distance cycle route passes through Přísnotice. This route runs from Poland through Moravia to Austria. The path to the reconciliation cross passes the rest area at the 24th kilometre of the Brno–Vienna cycle route.
