Vojkovice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The Vojkovické nivy archaeological site lies on a hill above the river. During various prehistoric periods, settlements or burial grounds, possibly both, were located there. More than 150 graves from different periods have been examined at Vojkovické nivy.

History and Culture

The Boží muka wayside shrine, dating from the early 18th century, stands on the road to Syrovice. Its niches depict the Holy Trinity, a Pietà and Saint Anthony of Padua.

Nature and Landscape

Vojkovická vrbovna is a natural monument on the northwestern edge of Vojkovice along the Vojkovický or Mlýnský-Náhon canal, near the local mill. Vojkovice lies in a flat area; the surrounding area also features hills, small groves and bodies of water. Výhon, a hill, is also located in the vicinity of Vojkovice.

Around 500 pollard willows stand along the Vojkovický-Náhon in the cadastral area of Vojkovice. The stands continue into the cadastral area of Holasice.

Paths and Leisure

The Brno–Vienna cycle path passes through Vojkovice. The red-marked long-distance Svatojakubská hiking trail also passes through Vojkovice.

The Koupaliště města Židlochovice swimming pool at Brněnská 426 in Vojkovice has a 50-metre swimming pool, a 22-metre pool for non-swimmers and a children's paddling pool with a diameter of 12 metres.

In the Wider Surroundings

The wider regional surroundings of Vojkovice include Brno Zoo, the Dívčí Hrady ruin, the Nedánov, Leskoun and Obora mountains, the Tempelštejn ruin and the sady Osvobození park.

Traditions

The traditional Svatovavřinecké hody Vojkovice festivities were scheduled to take place from 7 to 9 August 2026 at the football pitch and included cimbalom, disco, modern and brass-band music.
