Černvír lies in the valley of the Svratka River and in the Svratecká vrchovina Nature Park.

Culture and History

The Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary stands on a rocky promontory above the Svratka River. It was probably built around 1228; its interior contains rare wood carvings and Gothic wall paintings.

The covered wooden bridge in Černvír crosses the river. It was built in 1718 and is 35 metres long. Its load-bearing structure still consists almost entirely of the original fir wood.

The Fantasy Museum & Gallery in Černvír features robots, submarines and airships. The museum's sculptures are inspired by Jules Verne, Karel Zeman and Karel Čapek; the works are created in the styles of steampunk and trash art.
