Řikonín: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes
Řikonín lies in a picturesque valley on the Libochovka stream, on whose left bank the village is situated. The landscape around Řikonín consists predominantly of spruce or mixed forests, pastures and small fields in the hilly countryside.
Landscape and Hiking Trails
A regionally marked green hiking trail passes through Řikonín. A walking trail reaches the railway line near Řikonín and is no more than 8 km long. Another walking trail through the Haldatal valley combines an experience of nature with traces of history.
In the wider regional surroundings, this walking trail through the Haldatal valley passes a railway tunnel. From 1943 until the end of the Second World War, the tunnel was the last so-called C tunnel to form part of the production premises of Diana GmbH.
In the opposite direction, the green-marked regional hiking trail leads via Chytálky and Pasník to Tišnov railway station. In the wider regional surroundings, Sochorská skála can be reached from Kutiny via the green-marked hiking trail; the trail passes underneath a railway viaduct and crosses the Libochovka.
Culture and History
The Chapel of Saint Giles, built around 1874, stands on the village green in Řikonín. A chapel dedicated to the Virgin Mary was also built above Řikonín in 1899.
Three hundred metres from Řikonín, a wooden cross erected in 1949 stands beside a field path. Another wooden cross above the Balákův Mill bears the year 1877. The site known as “U zabitého” is marked by a stone bearing the year 1795.
The historic Balákův Mill, formerly called Severův Mill or Severův mlýn, lies across the Libochovka from Řikonín and in the immediate vicinity of the village on the Libochovka stream. A concrete mill race has been preserved at the mill. The site of Balákův Mill originally housed a municipal pazderna, where the village shepherd lived.
