Senorady: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

In Senorady, the Senoradské krojované hody is one of the most popular regular cultural and social events. The village is home to the central bell tower of Senorady, a valuable late Baroque monument dating from 1807. The chapel on the village square was also built in 1807. On the western side of Senorady rises a hill where a wooden fortress once stood. A message was also found in the chapel’s turret; it had been placed there during an earlier restoration in 1955.

Culture and History

The “Život na vsi” exhibition displays agricultural and household tools, including wooden wheelbarrow wheels, a mortar and an old wooden salt shaker from the 18th century. The “Keramika doby halštatské” exhibition can be viewed with 3D glasses, which can be borrowed or purchased at the Senorady Municipal Office. The Senorady e-Museum covers the history of the municipality and its immediate surroundings from the first settlement through the beginning of the 20th century.

Nature

In the dry grasslands south of Senorady at Senoradský véhon, a population of several hundred large-flowered pasque flowers (Pulsatilla grandis) grows. The Senoradská stezka is an educational nature trail through the Údolí Oslavy a Chvojnice Nature Reserve and connects several viewpoints overlooking the Oslava valley.

Trails and Experiences

A trip from Senorady leads to the Templštýn castle ruins; the one-way journey takes approximately three hours. The “Přes tři hrady a dvě řeky” route leads to the ruins of Kraví Hora Castle, Levnov Castle and Šance Fortress. Along the way, it crosses the Oslavka and Chvojnice rivers several times, is approximately 12 km long and takes about four to six hours.

On the way to the Oslava valley, you can visit the Senoradská kantýna. Senorady also has a municipal geocaching cache called Tvrz Senorady.
