The Museum of Air Defence (PVO) in Újezd u Brna presents aircraft, radar and missile technology, as well as military equipment, the facilities of command posts and contemporary documents. Visitors can also look inside rooms that were previously inaccessible to the public.
Nature
The PP Špice natural monument lies northeast of Újezd u Brna. It protects a site of steppe flora, particularly the Tatarian katran.
History
A cannon shot from the Chapel of Saint Anthony heralded the start of the Battle of the Three Emperors on 2 December 1805. The monument to the victims of the plane crash commemorates the crash of a passenger aircraft on 10 October 1962 in the cadastral area of Újezd u Brna.
Things to do
The Cesta přírodou educational trail begins and ends at the town hall in the centre of Újezd u Brna. It is approximately 6.5 kilometres long and signposted: the first section follows the green hiking trail marking, and the second follows the yellow one.
Farma U Staré Hory has an 800-metre-long farm trail that begins at the pasture behind the Evangelical church in Rychmanov. The farm offers guided walks with the farmer for groups of at least 10 children. Visitors can feed the animals with food available there for a small fee.
Railway line 300, which connects Brno with Přerov, runs through Újezd u Brna.
