Žabčice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The transregional cycle route No. 5, the Amber Trail, runs through Žabčice. It passes through the municipality over a length of 2.5 km; a 1.5 km section runs away from roads on a dedicated cycle path.

Žabčice railway station is integrated into the IDS JMK integrated transport system. It is located on line 251, serving the Tišnov–Brno–Hustopeče u Brna and Hrušovany u Brna–Židlochovice routes.

Landscape

Žabčice lies in the Dyje–Svratka Valley between the Svratka and Šatava rivers. During the revitalisation of the Šatava in 1999 and 2000, ponds were created in the Klučiny locality.

VKP Klučiny is one of the two registered significant landscape features in Žabčice. The registered significant landscape feature VKP Klučiny comprises wooded areas covering 3.87 hectares in the area of the former sports field and Jezírko.

History and Culture

The Kulatý kopec fortification was built around the middle of the 13th century and fell into disrepair around 1425. It is a motte in the shape of a truncated cone, with a clearly recognisable ditch and a partially preserved outer rampart.

The large granary at the Žabčice estate was built in 1713 and continues to serve various purposes to this day. The Chapel of Saint Lawrence in the centre of Žabčice was built in 1883.

A church and a medieval cemetery have been documented in the vanished medieval settlement of Koválov. Boží muka is an important cultural monument in Žabčice.
