Hostěnice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

In the western part of the cadastral area of Hostěnice lies Hostěnické propadání, which is part of the Moravian Karst Protected Landscape Area. The natural area forms a blind karst valley that ends at a rock wall. At Hostěnické propadání, the Hostěnický potok stream disappears into vertical fissure abysses.

Nature and Trails

Forests predominate in the cadastral area of Hostěnice, covering 1,732 ha; these forests are part of Říčky Nature Park. Říčky Nature Park is a popular excursion area with a dense network of marked trails.

Culture and Tradition

The Chapel of St. Anne is a free-standing brick chapel in a forest northwest of Hostěnice and was built in 1748. It is listed in the state register of immovable cultural monuments.

The Zvonička bell tower stands in the centre of Hostěnice. It dates from 1877 and is listed as an immovable cultural monument. The Anenské hody festival, including a church service at the forest chapel, is one of the traditional celebrations in Hostěnice.

At a local farm in Hostěnice, horses can be rented for rides.
