Medlov: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Medlov is located in the open, treeless landscape of the Dyjsko-svratecký úval on the left bank of the Jihlava River. The Medlov area is part of the Niva Jihlava Nature Park.

Nature and Location

The landscape around the village is characterised by the open plain and its location on the river. Two IDS-JMK bus routes also run through Medlov: Route 154 connects the village, among other places, with Židlochovice, Hrušovany u Brna and Ivančice. Route 504 also passes through Medlov and connects the village, among other places, with Pohořelice, Rajhrad, Modřice and Brno.

Culture

The local architectural landmark is the Baroque Church of St Bartholomew. Its core is Gothic and dates from the late 13th century. The column with the statue group of the Holy Trinity was erected in 1698 on Medlov village square. The statue of Saint John of Nepomuk is one of Medlov’s particularly notable monuments.

Events

The Bartolomějské hody is a traditional local event in Medlov. “Medlov sobě” is an annual cultural event in Medlov; invitations were issued for 15 June 2024. Fishing competitions at Medlovské jezero were announced for May. An invitation was issued in Medlov for the “Babské hody” on 12 October at 8 p.m.
