Rozdrojovice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The Rozdrojovické lesy woodland complex borders the built-up area of Rozdrojovice. Most of the area is occupied by a game reserve for mouflon and fallow deer.

Nature

The Rozdrojovické lesy area features the “Vodní nádrž Brno, Brněnská přehrada jak ji neznáte II” educational trail. From Rozdrojovice, hiking and cycling trails lead to the Brněnská přehrada reservoir, Veveří Castle, the pilgrimage site of U Tří křížů and Veverská Bítýška.

Routes

The 5.7 km route “Od Rozdrojovic k tajným výhledům na hrad” begins and ends in Rozdrojovice. Along this route, the path leads from Spáleňák down to a saddle from which Veveří can be seen without any trees obstructing the view.

Rozdrojovická studánka can be reached from the “Rozdrojovice, BUS” stop or crossroads via the red-marked trail along holiday homes and into the valley.

Culture

Rozdrojovická kaplička was built in 1826–1827 and is dedicated to Saint John of Nepomuk. A memorial to the victims of the world wars stands in the park in the centre of Rozdrojovice.

Mladé Hody regularly take place in mid-May. They include a procession of couples in traditional costumes, during which sprigs of rosemary and wine are offered, as well as dancing the Česká beseda and Moravská beseda in the evening.

Babské hody regularly take place in September. A procession of women and girls in traditional costumes passes through the municipality, dancing takes place at the homes of the Stárky, and guests receive small refreshments.

Food and Drink

The Rojc craft brewery in Rozdrojovice offers an expert explanation of the brewing of bottom-fermented and top-fermented beers, as well as the tasting of at least six types of beer directly from the tanks.
