Vysoké Popovice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Vysoké Popovice reveals its history through specific years: the first written mention of the village dates back to 1228. The historic village setting includes the parish Church of St. John the Baptist and the Panská hospoda inn, which dates back to 1755.

History and Village Character

The parish Church of St. John the Baptist is located in Vysoké Popovice. It was originally a Romanesque wooden church, probably dating from the 12th century; it was later replaced by a masonry church. In 1910, it was rebuilt and consecrated on 23 October 1910.

The municipal grounds also tell the story of the village’s development: they were planted with fruit trees between 1910 and 1912 and today bear the name of their initiator, Arnošt Dusík.

Geographical Location

Vysoké Popovice railway station is located on railway line 240 between Brno and Jihlava. The station building, or rather the covered shelter, and all platforms at Vysoké Popovice station are wheelchair accessible.

Leisure and Routes

The beach volleyball court in Vysoké Popovice can also be used without a reservation if space is available. A reservation system was introduced due to increased interest in the sports facility.

Cesta pohádkovým lesem takes place every year on the first Saturday in September. Stezka permoníků is suitable for cycling or hiking. Most of the route is intended to run along forest and field paths as well as avenues; only a short section is intended to run along a road between Vysoké Popovice and Příbram.

The municipality warned of an extreme risk of slipping on the staircase leading from the dam to the Doubí reservoir. Visitors were asked to use the opposite beach to enter the water.
