Moravský Žižkov: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Moravský Žižkov is particularly showcased by the approximately two-kilometre-long Žižkovská wine trail. The circular route leads through vineyards, past wine cellars and the municipality’s most important sights. It leads to a hill among the vineyards, offering views of a landscape framed by Pálava and the White Carpathian Mountains. Cyclists and pedestrians can explore the largest wine-cellar complex in the Benátky part of the municipality along the trail and walk through the oldest wine alley in Agrární.

Culture and Wine Tradition

The Chapel of St Florian is the oldest building in Moravský Žižkov and dates from 1852. Its entrance is decorated with Slovakian-style folk ornaments.

Agrární is a historically named wine-cellar quarter in Moravský Žižkov with a long-standing tradition of winegrowing and folklore. It includes a small square with old agricultural machinery and seating in the middle; on two sides, it is surrounded by wine cellars.

The Church of Our Lady Victorious is also part of the local character. Its construction began in 2000, and it was consecrated on 17 August 2002. The church has a free-standing tower topped with a cross and a bell installation for three bells.

The traditional “Zarážení hory” event took place on 2 September 2023 in the Agrární wine-cellar area in Moravský Žižkov.

Landscape and Nature

Žižkovský Pond and part of the valley of the Prušánky watercourse above the pond form the local ecological stability system. Valuable plant and animal communities can be found in the infiltration area at the end of the floodplain and below the dam of the Žižkovský Pond biocentre.

Extensive orchards and vineyards stretch around Žižkovský Pond, making the area suitable for walks and cycling trips.
