Moravská Nová Ves: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Moravská Nová Ves has more than 150 hectares of vineyards and around 170 wine cellars. The Cabernet Moravia grape variety was also developed here.

Wine and local culture

The Neoveská Trail takes visitors to the wine lanes of Moravská Nová Ves and into the local floodplain forest. It also connects two long-distance cycle routes that run through Moravská Nová Ves. The wine cellar area is just a few steps from Moravská Nová Ves railway station.

A regular fixture on the local calendar is Vinobraní, traditionally held on the second Saturday in September in the authentic wine lanes of Výmol and Zátiší. The festival includes a costumed procession with brass music; it also features open wine cellars and regional specialities.

History and festivals

The Church of Saint James the Greater was built between 1771 and 1773. The Svatojakubské hody, a three-day folk festival, takes place after the feast of Saint James. The Podlužácký costume ball is also held annually in Moravská Nová Ves.

Folk Crafts Day is a traditional cultural and social event held in conjunction with a folk market. It includes demonstrations of handicraft production as well as gastronomic specialities and wine from Moravská Nová Ves.

Landscape and trails

Moravská Nová Ves is situated on a terrace above the Kyjovka stream near the Slovak border; here, the Morava River forms the border. The Neoveská Lakes are a natural tourist attraction created by gravel extraction.

Horse-riding trails run through the surroundings of Moravská Nová Ves and the floodplain forests.
