Bavory: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Bavory is located directly in the heart of the Pálava Protected Landscape Area. The village also lies on the main Brno–Mikulov–Vienna route.

Landscape and Nature

Bavory lies below the southwestern slope of the Tabulová National Nature Reserve. The Tabulová National Nature Reserve protects rocky steppes and extensive grass steppes. A total of 130 species of higher plants have been identified on Anenský vrch. The area features steppe grasslands with scattered shrubs, as well as specially protected plant and animal species typical of the rocky ridge of the Pavlovské vrchy.

In the Tabulová National Nature Reserve, leaving the marked paths and cycling are prohibited.

Culture and History

The Parish Church of St. Catherine of Alexandria in Bavory was built in 1741–1742 on the site of an older temple whose date of construction is unknown. It has a Renaissance tower that was raised by one bell storey in 1791. Mass is regularly held at 11 a.m. on Sundays in the Parish Church of St. Catherine of Alexandria in Bavory.

The statue of St. John of Nepomuk in Bavory is a state-protected monument. The chapel on the state road between Brno and Mikulov in Bavory is also state-protected. The Jakubsko-Anenské hody is a traditional folk costume festival in Bavory.
