Horní Vestonice: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Horní Vestonice combines nature, history and wine within a small area. The Pálava Protected Landscape Area extends into the cadastral area of Horní Věstonice; the Věstonická nádrž Nature Reserve also extends into this cadastral area.

Culture and history

The parish church of St Rozálie in Horní Věstonice is a late Baroque building dating from 1769 to 1773. Above Horní Věstonice, restored Boží muka, a wayside shrine, stand by a spring. The Chapel of St Urban can be visited at the entrance to Horní Věstonice when approaching from Mikulov.

The remains of Neuhaus, also known as Nový hrad, are located in the cadastral area of Horní Věstonice. Neuhaus was built between 1368 and 1376 by the Moravian margrave John Henry to defend the country's border and was probably destroyed during the Hussite campaign through South Moravia in 1426.

Exploring by bike

The 5 km-long Rozálie cycle path connects Pasohlávky, Horní Věstonice and Dolní Věstonice. It runs mostly through the centre of Horní Věstonice and offers views of Pálava and the Nové Mlýny reservoirs.

Wine and tastings

Vinařství Marvin offers guided wine tastings directly among the vineyards in Horní Věstonice. Private wine tastings are also available in its historic vaulted cellar in Horní Věstonice.
