Lanžhot: Holiday Apartments and Houses

Lanžhot is situated in the floodplain of the Dyje and Morava rivers. Its surroundings feature characteristic floodplain forests and meadows; the marked Moravská stezka cycling route also runs through the cadastral area. From there, it follows the route along the Soutok game reserve and then along the Hraniční cesta to Břeclav, connecting the Jeseníky Mountains with South Moravia.

Nature

The Lanžhotské pralesy National Nature Reserve extends partly across the cadastral area of Lanžhot. It protects floodplain forests, oak-hornbeam forests, reed beds, stands of tall sedges, meadows and pastures, as well as aquatic plant communities. The Soutok Protected Landscape Area preserves a river landscape with river branches, meanders, wetlands and flooded meadows, home to endangered fish, amphibians and aquatic plants.

Cycling and Sports

The Sokolské sports complex includes an inline skating track, a fitness room, a children's playground and a workout playground, tennis courts and a pétanque court. The pump track in Lanžhot is used by children, teenagers and adults for riding bicycles, scooters, balance bikes, skateboards and inline skates.

Culture and Tradition

The Lanžhot Museum presents folk culture through historical household furnishings, historical clothing, and old and contemporary local costumes. An entry from 1373 mentions both the Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross and the parish school.

During the Lanžhotské hody festival, a hand-built maypole structure is erected across the entire square on Saturday; the event concludes with the traditional song “Tá lanžhocká mája tenká…”
