Boleradice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The Church of St John the Baptist is considered the oldest and largest monument in Boleradice and is also one of the four oldest churches in the Břeclav District. There is a Romanesque window in its southern wall.

Culture and History

The Chapel of St Roch was rebuilt in 1888 and has a Baroque Revival style. A church service is currently held there once a year, in August.

Above Boleradice, in the Na Pasekách area, lie the remains of Boleradice Castle, where ditches and ramparts are still visible. Boleradice Castle is important evidence of the transitional phase from early medieval hillforts to an early feudal castle.

Nature and Trails

The local hiking trails pass through wooded areas and offer views of the landscape shaped by rows of vineyards. The yellow-marked trail along Nikitěnkova cesta leads to the blue-marked trail. This continues via Kobylí and Vrbice to Čejkovice, or in the opposite direction via Křepice to Velké Němčice.

From Boleradice, cyclists can join the Velkopavlovická Wine Trail.

Traditions and Information

The Jánské hody festival in Boleradice takes place at the end of June on the weekend closest to the feast of the patron saint of the church, St John. The Zavádka dance was revived in Boleradice in 1993 and has continued to be maintained there in recent years.

Various promotional materials are available or can be purchased at the local office of the market town of Boleradice, including brochures about the Hustopečsko microregion, to which Boleradice belongs. They cover traditions and folklore, monuments and church buildings, as well as nature and protected areas.
