Culture and Townscape

The Chapel of Saint Theresia was built in 1857 and consecrated in 1861. It stands at a crossroads on the routes to Břeclav, Lanžhot and Tvrdonice. In 2021, it received a new ornamental pattern adorning all four sides.

The former Chapel of the Holy Cross was demolished in 1930 and rebuilt a little farther away. The Balíkových Chapel stands on the border between Kostice and Lanžhot. The statue of Saint John of Nepomuk is located near the Chapel of Saint Theresia.

The museum in the traditional folk house would like to participate in the “Víkend památkových domků” project, which traditionally takes place at the beginning of June.

Landscape and Water

The eastern part of the Kostice cadastral area lies in the floodplain of the Morava River. The 31 km cycling route from Břeclav to Hodonín runs through flat terrain along the Morava River.

Events and Local Traditions

Bahenní párty is a traditional three-day music and motorcycle event in Kostice that has been held since 1995.

Kostický rybník is a fishing water managed by the Kostice local branch of the Moravian Anglers’ Association. Twice a year, it hosts a spring and an autumn gathering for anglers and non-anglers. During the summer holidays, locals and visitors from elsewhere can enjoy fried and smoked fish at Rybářský výlet.
