Kobylí: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Kobylí has 289 hectares of registered vineyards. The slopes around the former Kobylí Lake offer suitable conditions for numerous white grape varieties such as Veltlínské zelené, Tramín, Neuburské and Müller-Thurgau, as well as blue grape varieties such as Frankovka, Modrý Portugal, Svatovavřinecké and André.

Culture

The Kobylí Museum is located in the premises of the former civic school. An exhibition on the development of the traditional costume of Kobylí is on display there, along with a viticulture exhibition on the history of winegrowing in Kobylí.

The Church of St. George is a historic landmark of Kobylí. Its preserved Gothic presbytery dates approximately from the late 15th century.

Wine

Suchořádská Zmola is a cellar lane where winegrowers meet to taste typical wines from Kobylí. In the lower part of the grounds there is an old wooden wine press, which was restored and conserved in 2002. Kobylí railway station is located on the Velkopavlovická Wine Route.

Nature

The Ostrůvek Biocentre comprises 13 ponds and a stream that has been extended by around 170 metres. There is also a new birdwatching site, from which, with a little luck, bee-eaters or purple herons can be seen.

The Stezka nad vinohrady was built in 2018 on Kobylí vrch, also known locally as Homole, which lies at an altitude of 334 metres above sea level.

On the Way

The Kobylí Educational Trail has six information boards presenting the village's sights and history. It leads from Kobylí through the vineyards to the viewpoint. From the cemetery next to the Church of St. George, there is a sweeping view of Pálava and the landscape of Ždánický les.
