Starovice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

In the village centre of Starovice, the Church of St George and St Nicholas and the adjoining rectory dominate the village square. The church was built in the 16th century. During its extensive renovation in 1885, a nave was built over a vaulted stream bed.

Culture

Next to the Church of St George and St Nicholas stands a cross with Christ dating from 1792. There is also a statue of St Anthony on the village square. The Baroque statue of the Immaculata, dating from 1741, stands next to the municipal office. A statue of St Gothard stands in the fields south of Starovice. The chapel in Starovice was moved three metres in 2005 because it extended into the roadway.

The Krojované hody took place in Starovice from 23 to 25 August 2024 and from 22 to 24 August 2025.

Wine and Landscape

The Velkopavlovická Wine Trail passes through Starovice and runs along its route between Popice and Hustopeče. In the area around Starovice, it offers views of vineyards and apricot orchards. Many of Starovice’s wine cellars have been preserved in their original form and continue to serve their purpose to this day.

Transport

Starovice has two bus stops: Starovice obec and Starovice–rozcestí. Road 00220 runs through Starovice and joins Road 425 after approximately 700 metres. From there, the D2 motorway can be reached near Hustopeče.
