The Lednice–Valtice Cultural Landscape was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1996. It can be explored on foot or by bicycle via numerous hiking and cycling trails. In Valtice, castle culture, wine tradition and historic sites meet paths through an extensive cultural landscape.

Culture and Wine

At Valtice Castle, the Hlavní reprezentační okruh tour takes 55 minutes and leads through more than 20 representative rooms. The cellars of the state castle are also home to the Salon vín České republiky, a public tasting exhibition open all year round. It presents the 100 best wines selected each year as part of the National Wine Competition.

In the grounds of Valtice Castle, the Zámecký sklep A.D. 1430 offers guided tours as well as tours with wine tasting. Another historic wine world is Valtické Podzemí: the 900-metre-long labyrinth consists of 13 interconnected historic wine cellars whose history can be reliably traced back to before 1289. Valtické Podzemí is open to visitors all year round.

The National Museum of Agriculture in Valtice features exhibitions on the history of viticulture, the natural wealth of the Lednicko-valtický areál and soil.

The Stezka bosou nohou is a circular trail just under 5 kilometres long with 12 activity stations between Schrattenberg and Valtice. In addition, the Bylinková zahrada Lu & Tiree Chmelar features more than 300 herb species and educational beds.
