Lysovice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Architectural Heritage and Village Centre

Lysovice is home to two buildings with distinctly different histories: the filial Church of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus is a historicist-eclectic church built between 1923 and 1924 and consecrated on 2 August 1924. Farmhouse No. 21 is an agricultural farmstead dating from the 18th century, consisting of a residential building and a projecting Žudr. This Žudr has a mushroom-shaped entrance; the farmhouse stands on the north side of the village square.

There is also a statue of Saint John of Nepomuk from 1732 in the centre of Lysovice. Historical Haná Žudrs are also found in Lysovice.

History and Traditions

Lysovice was first mentioned in writing in 1465; at that time, the village appeared under the name Lissiwicz.

The Krojované hody festival takes place regularly in Lysovice. Its programme includes erecting a maypole on Friday, a procession in traditional dress through the village followed by evening entertainment on Saturday, and a Sunday mass in the church. The Pohádková cesta a stezka odvahy event is also held regularly in Lysovice at the end of August.

Trails and Landscape

A red-marked hiking trail runs through Lysovice along the Ždánický les–Bučovice–Lysovice–Hlubočany–Vyškov–Jedovnice–Moravský kras corridor.

The Větrníky area is a Natura 2000 site protecting sub-Pannonian steppe grasslands as well as semi-natural dry grasslands and shrub formations on calcareous soils. It is home to species-rich xerothermic vegetation with numerous rare and endangered Pontic-Pannonian species.

Forest and fruit trees have been planted in the Hliník recreation zone.
