Nature

The Krkatá bába rock group is located above the left bank of the Lubě stream, about 1 kilometre from Lubě in the Žernovnická hrást. Its rock formations extend for approximately 500 metres along the left bank. At the southern end of the Krkatá bába gorge, there are several rock towers and boulders up to 15 metres high. The formations of Krkatá bába consist of reddish Rokytná conglomerates from the Boskovice Furrow, dating from the Carboniferous to the Permian.

The Krkatá bába locality is home to rare, regionally endangered thermophilic plant species, including common juniper, one-fruited cotoneaster, two-leaved biscutella and ciliate melic grass.

The Lubě stream originates in Lubě in the Blansko District through the confluence of smaller streams. Its upper course runs through valleys, and the stream is approximately 22 kilometres long.

Paths and Routes

Krkatá bába can be reached via a walkable tourist trail located more than 250 metres from the road. Cycle route 5268 passes through Lubě. The “Along the Lubě Stream Valley” tour is suitable for hikers and cyclists and runs through the area around the Moravian Karst.

Culture

The Chapel of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary is a locally significant cultural heritage site in Lubě.
