Bukovina: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Bukovina is situated in the gently rolling terrain of the Drahanská vrchovina highlands and is surrounded by forests on all sides.

Culture and Village Life

In 1924, a statue of Saint Wenceslas was erected in Bukovina’s village square as a memorial to eleven residents who fell in the First World War. The historic bell from the 1833 belfry still hangs there today and is listed as a cultural monument. Cultural events and fairs take place in the square around the monument to Saint Wenceslas.

The protected Boží muka wayside shrine stands on a hill beside the Agos Bio agricultural facility. The unusual two-storey structure has a triangular ground plan and a gabled roof topped by a Cyril and Methodius cross; each storey has three image niches.

Bukovina Day (“Den Bukoviny”) is a traditional event held every year in September. At the beginning of the school holidays, the local fire brigade also organizes the “Bukovinské štafetování” youth competitions every year.
