Prostřední Poříčí: Holiday apartments and houses

In Prostřední Poříčí, the Chapel of the Virgin Mary is a single-nave building with a rectangular floor plan and a semicircular-ended presbytery. The chapel dates from 1891–1892 and is an immovable cultural monument.

The Prostřední Poříčí Municipal Library provides visitors with a computer with internet access and has 2,215 books.

Culture and history

House No. 9 in Prostřední Poříčí was formerly a mill and sawmill with a millrace. During renovations, it was discovered that the homestead No. 8, known as Zemanka, in Prostřední Poříčí also had a defensive character.

The Prostřední Poříčí Volunteer Fire Brigade organizes the felling of the maypole every year. In recent years, the Prostřední Poříčí municipality, the Volunteer Fire Brigade and Jednota Boskovice have jointly organized a traditional St. Nicholas celebration for children.

Landscape

The marlstone quarries in Prostřední Poříčí were used by former residents to build houses. Imprints of fossilized sea animals can be found in the quarried marlstone.

Cycle path

The marked cycle path 5160 passes through Prostřední Poříčí and connects Letovice railway station with Hutě.
