Kotvrdovice is located on the edge of the Moravian Karst.

Culture and History

The Chapel of the Divine Heart of the Lord was consecrated on 30 August 1942. Inside is the altar painting “Divine Heart” by Mikoláš Medek.

The local festival culture also includes the tradition of krojované hody, which the local chasa of Kotvrdovice revived in 2009.

Nature and Activities

An active flying club operates at the sports airfield in Kotvrdovice; sightseeing flights can be arranged there.

Since 2009, a frequently used cycle path has connected Kotvrdovice with Jedovnice. Those interested can also arrange horseback rides with Ms Mergeščíková.

Festivals and Events

Masopust in Kotvrdovice includes a masked procession through the municipality accompanied by music from Olšověnka. The programme also includes an evening dance and the traditional burial of the double bass.

The Kotvrdovské pálení čarodějnic in April 2025 included competitions for children, face painting for children, a snake demonstration and a bonfire.

The local KČT Kotvrdovice branch organised the 44th hiking march Krajem pod Kojálem.

Culinary Specialties

The annual food competition “Utopenec Open” takes place at the TŘI SUDY Kotvrdovice airfield.
