The Žernovník lookout tower is located in the Skalky area at an altitude of 455 metres and is accessible year-round.
Activities
Due to its location at a crossroads, Žernovník is suitable as a starting and finishing point for hiking trails. The surrounding area is also suitable for cycling. In winter, there are numerous cross-country skiing tracks in the vicinity of Žernovník.
Nature
The Žernovník area lies in the Lysicko Nature Park. The Lysicko Nature Park serves to preserve permanent grassland, scattered greenery and forest edges reinforced by shrub belts.
Horka u Žernovníka is a significant landscape feature registered in 1998 in the cadastral area of Žernovník u Černé Hory. On the southern side of Žernovník, at the junction of roads III/37715 and III/37719, there is a group of four small-leaved lime trees (Tilia cordata). In the middle of this group stands a cross bearing the year 1859.
Culture
Monolithic wayside cross stone No. 0610 stands in the park south of the village chapel. Its front and back bear raised reliefs of a wedge cross. The front also features the engraved inscription “LIDA” and a small cross.
