Habrůvka combines a protected forest landscape with impressive natural and cultural traces. Around the Habrůvecká bučina are features ranging from natural beech forests and karst formations to historical evidence.

Nature

The Habrůvecká bučina is a national nature reserve in the cadastral area of Habrůvka. It protects a species-rich complex of natural beech and beech-oak forests, a geode site in the Rudice Beds, and a group of above-ground and underground karst formations.

To protect the area, visitors to the Habrůvecká bučina are asked not to leave the paths. From a path along the edge of the Habrůvecká bučina, it is possible to look into the protected area. The remarkable memorial tree Modřín troják u Habrůvky also stands directly beside the path near the Habrůvecká bučina.

Culture and History

The Habrůvecká bučina contains slag remains dating from the 11th century. The remains of a lime kiln are also located there; lime burners from the nearby municipality of Habrůvka operated it until 1924. A monument to Prof. Alois Zlatník stands on the northern boundary of the Habrůvecká bučina.

At Býčí skála, the site could be visited on weekends in June as part of open days. A Hallstatt-period grave from the Early Iron Age containing more than 40 skeletons was discovered there; a small bronze bull figurine was also found.

Paths and Transport

When using public transport, the Josefovské údolí route begins at the Habrůvka, Josefov bus stop. It ends at the Habrůvka, Josefov stop at the crossroads. Bus route 157 runs from Adamov to Vyškov via Habrůvka.

The forest road K Hlinkovým dolům connects Habrůvka and Rudice. For road cyclists, the northern section of this forest road up to the junction with the Padouch forest road is recommended.
