Culture and history
In Housko, the Chapel of the Virgin Mary was consecrated on 4 September 1921. Since 1921, there has been an annual tradition of parishioners gathering around the Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary at the chapel in Housko for Holy Mass, giving thanks for the community and praying for its future. The Vysočany pilgrimage takes place at the beginning of July.
The history of Housko also includes the former Church of the Virgin Mary. It was probably destroyed during the turmoil of war in the 15th century; it had already burned down by 1493 and was mentioned as abandoned in 1564.
Construction of the Church of Saints Cyril and Methodius began on 2 June 1864. It was consecrated on 23 November 1873.
