Vanovice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes
Culture and History
Vanovice brings together ecclesiastical architectural history in two churches. The Protestant church was built in the Neo-Romanesque style with a semicircular apse and was ceremonially opened on 11 August 1844. Its façade was given two towers between 1863 and 1865; it also still has a functioning spring-operated bell-ringing mechanism.
The core of the Catholic Church of St. Wenceslas in Vanovice dates back to the 15th century. The former churchyard around the Catholic church is now a park.
In the center of Vanovice stands the historic Občanská záložna building, which was built in 1896 as a civic savings bank. Its historic hall has an original theater curtain, professionally restored in 2021, and is used for smaller cultural events, including concerts.
Events
The Vanovické hudebně výtvarné slavnosti take place in the Protestant church. The 10th Malohanácké řemeslné jarmark was announced in Vanovice for 19 July 2025.
During the 12th Cyklovýlet Okolo Malé Hané on 25 August 2018, the route passed through Vanovice.
Landscape
In the wider regional surroundings of Vanovice are the mountains Skalky, Skatulec, Skály, and Husák. The monument Pomník obětem 1. a 2. světové války is also located in this wider regional area.
The surroundings of Vanovice also include the churches Kaple Panny Marie, Kaple Božského srdce, and Kaple Panny Marie Lurdské. The rock formations there are associated with local legends about a petrified wedding.
