Borotín: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes
Borotín is home to an arboretum founded in 1975 and covering 4.5 hectares. Nearly 3,000 plant species grow there. The grounds include Japanese and Chinese garden designs, bonsai, alpine displays with ponds, a water wall, and a pavilion with a rooftop garden.
Culture
The late Baroque Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross was built between 1786 and 1788. Its interior features typical Baroque furnishings and interesting stained-glass windows. At the upper end of Borotín’s village square, there is also a late Baroque statue of Saint John of Nepomuk.
Borotín Castle and its park are not open to the public.
Trails and Water
Above Borotín there is a fire-water reservoir that is used as an outdoor swimming pool in summer. Among the routes through the countryside is Cesta přírodou pod Borotínem: this approximately 11-kilometre, roughly three-hour circular trail is designed for hiking, cycling, and walks with a pushchair.
The Hanýsek educational trail follows field and forest paths to the arboretum in Borotín.
Landscape
Borotín lies at the eastern foot of the wooded foothills of the Podorlická pahorkatina highlands, which descend into the fertile Boskovická brázda depression. The old orchards above Borotín offer a far-reaching view across the entire Malá Haná region.

Borotín is known for fruit growing and the products of the local distillery, especially slivovitz.
