Šebetov: Apartments and Holiday Homes

Šebetov lies at the southern foot of the wooded Rychvald hill, which reaches 607 m above sea level.

Landscape

The Šebetov chateau park extends deep into the Obora forest massif and eventually merges into it. Šebetov lies in the Malá Haná area, which is considered the most fertile part of the Blansko District.

History and Village Character

Šebetov Chateau was originally a residence of Hradisko Monastery. It is not accessible to tourists, as it houses a social care facility for women with intellectual disabilities.

The Chapel of Saint Anne stands on a slight elevation above Šebetov, on the site of a former pleasure palace. It was built in 1711 at the instigation of Hradisko Abbot Bernard Vanka and remodelled in the Gothic style in 1842 by the former owner of the estate, Count Mořic Strachwic.

A sculptural group of Saint John of Nepomuk stands in the village square of Šebetov. The statue of Our Lady of Sorrows is now located on plot No. 90 and dates from the mid-19th century.

Getting Around

A yellow-marked hiking trail leads from Šebetov to Pohora (3.5 km), Úsobrno (7 km), and Dzbel (15.5 km). A blue-grey-marked hiking trail leads to Na pilce (2.5 km), Melkov (4.5 km), and Boskovice (13 km). Another blue-marked hiking trail leads from Šebetov to the destination marked “ČD” (1 km), to Cetkovice (13 km), and to Kunštát (23 km).

At the Kapouňata swimming complex in Šebetov, visitors may swim at their own risk and without a lifeguard in a filtered and chemically treated fire-water reservoir.

IDS-JMK bus line 277 serves Šebetov on the Letovice–Vísky–Vanovice–Šebetov–Kořenec route, or to Horní Štěpánov, and back.
