Chrudichromy: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Chrudichromy lies at the foot of the 441-metre-high Habří hill; the slope descends gently towards the Svitava Valley. The surrounding area includes the Skatulec, Bučí, Kuliška and Skály hills.

History

Coal was mined in the area around Chrudichromy. Coal mining at the roadside site near Trníček began in 1910 and continued until 1923. In the mid-19th century, safflower was cultivated; the locally grown safflower was taken to Leipzig, Berlin and Hamburg.

Culture

The cast-iron Trníček Cross stands below Trníček hill on the road towards Chrudichromy. The figures of the Holy Family in the Chrudichromský betlém were carved from limewood by Jiří Vraj. A new Chrudichromský betlém was exhibited in the chapel. The chapel with the nativity scene can be viewed through its glazed panels, rather than remaining permanently open.

Traditions

A traditional pilgrimage celebration of Saints Cyril and Methodius takes place at the chapel in Chrudichromy. Chrudichromský gulášek is a recurring local goulash tasting event; the 10th edition was announced for 19 September 2026.
